Open House Today, Ladies!

The little hole at the peak of the roof is the entrance to a snug palace, according to this male starling.

He sat up there and sang his heart out for an hour this morning, trying to convince one of these hot young things to join him for a season of domestic bliss. Every once in a while he would stop singing, bend over, and look pointedly at the doorway. He even motioned with his beak, "Right this way, girls! Wait until you see the master suite!"

Several took the free tour, hopping inside for a moment to check it out.

But eventually they all flew away and he was left alone, in silence.

Maybe he needs some nice new granite counters in the kitchen or a bigger...jacuzzi?
