Eat, drink and make lovely things

Nearly there. Yes I'm even home now and still backblipping trying to catch up!!

A day spent tidying, cleaning, preparing, keeping Ben out of the bathroom, going to the shops (twice), baking, blipping, swimming.

Ah yes, swimming!!

My little superstar. Missed swimming last week because we were at a birthday party, but it didn't make much difference to Ben. Apart from he didn't want to go into the pool room without me - I handed him over to Lucy, the teacher, and he was fine from there on. Our swimming class are just amazing. They are so confident, so responsive, so quick to pick up on things. Lucy said they saved the afternoon for her - she'd had class after class of frustration! One of the exercises they did today was to learn to keep a float flat on the water in front of them. To learn how to do this, they were to balance a plastic duck on the float, and swim across without the duck falling off the float. I didn't even think Ben was paying any attention, and was wondering how he was going to do especially as he was the first to go - but he did it! All the way across, float perfectly flat, duck didn't fall overboard, legs kicking, bubbles blowing, my little superstar. SO proud. He had a bit of a wobble near the end. They'd done a full length of the pool (10m) with swimfins on, and were going to do another length, but Ben decided he was tired and had really had enough now and came over for a cuddle, crying his heart out. I went with him halfway down the pool, bit frustrated that I couldn't really cuddle him (because he was wet!) but Lucy came over and gave him a big cuddle and he managed the final exercise very well. They get a duck recorded if they do well in their lesson now, I think when they've got 5 ducks recorded on the register they get a prize - and the whole class got ducks today :) We were VERY proud parents watching from the sidelines :D

And then, this evening, the girls came round for an evening of eating and drinking and making lovely things. We've been making organza bags and filling them with chocolates, lavender hearts, a card and various other bits and bobs for the non-church mums that come to Jubilee Tots on Tuesdays to say Happy Mothers Day and we love you! The girls were amazing. Two stayed until 11pm (when Ben woke up and we realised the time -oops) stuffing bags. 23 cards made, 17 bags made (I need to do a bit more sewing today/tomorrow/whatever - back-blipping is confusing). Had a lovely evening! Stayed up far too late again though, once Ben was back to sleep I needed warming up and feeding too, before I could go to bed.

Saturday in the morning :D
