Still gallus after all these years

Here is the very talented James Grant performing tonight at the Queen's Hall, Edinburgh. He described himself as "thrawn" but I don't think I've ever heard him so chatty. I used to live downstairs from him in Glasgow and he was very shy back then, I suspect he still is.

But, man, what a voice. Great to hear some of the oldies and some new stuff too. And his version of In the Ghetto was unbelievable.

I am always a bit freaked out when we go to gigs of "vintage" performers these days. Not by them, but by the audience. Can I really be a contemporary of these middle aged people?
