Busy Bee
eeeek where did March go? I'm all behind with things and time flies by...
CleanSteve popped round on council business and kindly lent me his Canon EF 55-250mm zoom. I spent half an hour at lunch time shooting a wide range of subjects and I found the images sharper and better focussed then the Sigma 70-300mm I've been struggling with, which is a similarly priced lens. I'm not sure if it's down to the image stabilisation on the Canon lens or if there's something not quite right about the Sigma.
This image is quite heavily cropped as the borrowed lens is not a macro - but with all the pixels we have to play with these days maybe not filling the whole frame with an image isn't always such a sin. The bee is feeding on a gooseberry bush by the way, if you were wondering what the funny looking flower was. The gooseberries are covered with insects, they're obviously doing something right, even though they may not appeal to the human eye.
... I really must concentrate on work and not be distracted by photography, I really must concentrate on work...
