It's not cricket

A couple of months before this photograph was taken, Mrs jml had lost an argument with a garden hose, and had badly damaged her leg. By this time, she had thrown away her crutches, but was still walking with the aid of a stick.

We are out with Jess, and of course we have a ball to throw for her. Mrs jml is seen here having used her stick and Jess's ball to play a golf shot. But Jess knows that this is not a golf course - that in fact we are on the local cricket pitch. So she takes up position behind, and looks for all the world like the wicket-keeper behind a batsman.
