Sad...

A very frustrated and sad Pippa. The class had been given maths homework which she found very frustrating. She had to make sums "the long way" where she knew the outcome already. For example:
481 + 193 = ?
481 + 100 = 581
581 + 90 = 671
671 + 3 = 674
so 481 + 193 = 674

Pippa doesn't need those steps in between, she sees the outcome straight away. However, she is still made to do it the long way... drives her mad (especially if you have to do a lot more than just one sum) and it drove her to tears. Shall have to have a word with the teacher I think... not always easy to be the smart one.

Another reason to be sad is the tragic death of cyclist Wouter Weylandt in the Giro d'Italia yesterday. Belgium, a cycling mad country, is in mourning. He was to become first time dad in September... R.I.P.
