La vida de Annie

Bargain corner

The weather was too wet and windy for our proposed jaunt to Southport, so we took a trip to Ikea and M&S instead.
Not as crazy as it sounds; both are very wheelchair-friendly, have excellent cafes, and on a Monday are really quiet. I tried to propel the chair myself but Enya seized it at every opportunity, whizzing down the aisles (while happily muttering "brum brummmm!!") with a thoroughness which meant that not a single item of merchandise was overlooked.
It transpires that the lady feels cheated of "pushchair time" with her children years ago as she was working full-time, so I had to play the part of a somewhat grotesque middle-aged surrogate child and even had to put my thumb in my mouth (I drew the line at a dummy). Think Whatever Happened to Baby Jane with me in the Joan Crawford role and Bette Davis trying to shove a wheelchair down an escalator. Me: "no! no! the sign says it's not allowed!"
Anyway, this is a shot of me after being dumped in the Bargain Corner with all the damaged and less-than perfect bits of furniture - she even put a price tag on me but there were no takers.
Who says life in a wheelchair is boring? Next time I look forward to a re-enactment of Thelma and Loiuse as we hurtle off a cliff....

Thanks Linda, had a great time. ;-)
