Nobody intends to put up a wall......
...said Walt Ulbricht two months before he started building the Berlin wall.
Started the day with heart attack strong coffee and fresh bread, then toodled out to the Wall Museum up at Ackerstrasse. Incredibly moving and Nancy seemed quite upset as we left.
Next, the Natural History Museum for some 'tallest dinosaur in the world, certified by Guiness Book of Records' action. As Brachiosaurs go, it was pretty big, but I've seen bigger in Leith.
It was mucho scorchio, so we stopped for a much needed hefeweiß en route to the Potsdamer Platz. The Sony Center (sic) is an incredible bit of architecture and the Holocaust Memorial is superb too; but strangley, very strangely, not as moving as the wall. Hitler's Bunker is now a car park and Check Point Charlie has a Berlin tat shop to the right, MickeyDs to the left and Starbucks stuck in the middle.....you get the picture.
Home for Vietnamese noodles, champagne and ketchup Pringles and to watch the amazing sheet lightning engulf the frightened diners in the TV tower.
Tomorrow is my Helmut Newton day
