Despite having perhaps the most unpleasant sound known to man (especially in large flocks),Cockatoos are social acrobats,intelligent,cheeky,funny and consequently can be destructive to human habitat....(eg.eating windows,eaves and anything wooden)....but they're fantastic to observe....their flying tricks are something to behold.
They arrive en mass at this time of year to eat cones,gumnuts and grasses...and whatever they like really.....they have few rivals...
many gardeners own water guns,to allow other parrots and birds into their gardens....
The perfection of the fanning of the wings as he took off from the top branch was a beautiful thing......
