The bricks of Mahatalaky CEG glow in a moment of early morning light; though this close up shows the unevenness of the work. The bricks are low quality, some crumbled at a touch and are handmade so uneven in size and shape. The bulk of the wall is grouted with wet clay, which is difficult to work and results in a somewhat uneven course. Credit where it's due: the construction team did a great job with the materials and tools they had available.

The holes (which you can see in the photo of the day before)) are permanent and are for ventilation at high level.
