~In Memory Of Kevin Wade Self~

September 29, 1964 ~ March 13, 2008

~Sergeant at Arms, Tucson Chapter #108, Star Touring and Riding~

Kevin Self passed away on Wednesday the 12th of March 2008.
A car made a u-turn in front of him.
He lost control of his motorcycle and lost his life.
He is survived by his wife Sammye Self,
and their adopted and foster children.
He loved God, life and his family.
And will be missed by all!
He was a fellow club member.
So today the chapter did a run in his memory.
We ended up at his house.
There we were greeted by his widow, family, neighbors,
many more bikers and the local news media.
It was a sad time, but good to reminisce about
what a good person he was
and how he lived and loved his life.
It is surprising how little you know about someone
until they are not around anymore!

This was written on Kevin's Memorial Card -

My life is not a journey to the grave,
With the intentions of arriving safely.
But rather, I will ride in broadside,
Thoroughly used up. and totally worn out.
Proclaiming, "WOW!.....What a ride!"
and then Kevin would say,
"Let's do it again!"

It was also nice to see some people I had not seen in awhile.
