Fatsia

The glossy, bright green leaves of the Fatsia japonica in our garden vividly illustrate the type of day we have had here.

We are lucky to still have this plant at all after the severe weather this past winter. Snow and ice reduced it to a few surviving half-blackened leaves around the root collar, but fortunately the plant's natural vigour has led to a resurgence of new growth this spring.
