Hot Peppers vs. Sweet Peppers

Right here's the story. Since we still have around 3ft of snow I am starting a lot of my veggies indoors this year (then I will plant when the freekin snow leaves). I planted a load of hot pepper seeds and sweet pepper seeds, 2 weeks later my wee sweet pepper plants are coming on a treat but to no avail my hot peppers are nowhere to be seen. What has happened, does anyone know?
