One of five a day

No-eyed-dear

One has to be allowed one of these blips ever so often...

...on a day that I was attacked by a Seagull during my walk to the sandwich shop at lunch time

....which caused me to swing my coat at the bird in an attempt at self-preservation

...which caused my wallet to be ejected from its pocket, unbeknown to me.

I only discovered this inconvenience when I tried to pay for my sandwich.

What followed was predicatbly stressful. I finally accepted that I wouldn't find the wallet, sat on a park bench and called all my credit card providers to report the loss. Some calls were good, some not. "May I have your card number?" is a hard question when you have just lost your card. Even harder to get past, when the automated service requires you to key in the number into the telephone keypad.

After an hour on the phone, as I headed back to my office, I took a chance and stopped at the local police station. And there it was. Some good samaritan had found it and handed my wallet in.

Faith in the world restored, I left half the cash value in my wallet as a fee for the finder. I am not sure if 10 quid was reasonable reward under the circumstances.

With enough money to buy my sandwich, at least I didn't have to go hungry until tea time. Now I just have to wait till all the replacement cards arrive.

And so, I am going use my stressful day as an excuse for blipping a splash of colour from the back garden, about the identity of which I have no idea.

Oh, and this camera is on loan to me from work. Hopefully I'll get better at using its features in a few days. Perhaps you all had a better day than me :)

P.S. No birds were harmed in the making of this blip.
