Lotus Close Up

Our lotus finally opened in the pond this morning! What a beauty it is. Though not a tropical, I think it's every bit as pretty and will survive over-wintering, thankfully. This is actually its second year but first bloom. Not sure if it opened over the weekend and we missed some of the glory. They are only open for several hours from mid-morning to early-afternoon and don't last many days. If I can get a profile shot tomorrow, I will add it as Wednesday's blip! It was so difficult for me choose just one photo of the many I snapped, so I'll just save a fresh angle for tomorrow!
