European Cornel

This dogwood species, Cornus mas, is so beautiful when it flowers. It brightened up this grey and rather wet Monday.

Yesterday we forgot to protect our Apricot against the roe deer - so tonight we headed to the allotment to put up some chicken net around the stem.

Hopefully we can now sleep peacefully, without having nightmares about the deer joyfully rubbing their antlers on our pour little Apricot's delicate stem.
