Lamb Hotpot....
.....in my belly!!
Since Spring had decided to have the day off and Winter was ably standing-in, Mrs Scobes decided to make lamb hotpot with leeks, neaps, mushrooms?, carrot and lamb (kinda obvious that last bit). It was joined on the plate by scrummy new tatties and green beans. Everything sourced from Scotland except the beans which flew over in a gas guzzling jumbo jet from Kenya (oops!!). Absolutely spot on for a dreich day.
Cultural trivia question for our Dutch blippers. Whilst on camping holidays in Europe, I've noticed that many, if not all, Dutch families we camp alongisde will serve food at the table from the pot and leave the pot on the table for people to help themselves to seconds. Brits seem to prefer to serve on to plates from the pot on the cooker ring and then leave it there. Is it culturally usual to move the pot to the dinner table in the Netherlands?.....[edit]and does it really matter!?(comment from Mrs Scobes)
