Fiftieth Anniversary Celebration

A very large crowd gathered in Pony Village Mall today, to celebrate it's 50th anniversary. The mall and I are now the same age! It has had a lot more facelifts than I have...no I haven't had any...

A short time before this photo was taken, the mass of people gathered for a balloon drop. Inside the balloons were coupons and certificates for stores inside the mall. I'm wondering if this lad wasn't re-living his experience watching the balloons drop. I suppose he could be praying or imagining the girl who sat in front of him in school and looking forward to Fall so he can see her again. Any other ideas?
