Gowns & hats

Today blip is very much topical as in an hour I will be sat on platform in Great Hall at Bradford at graduation ceremony for EDT & SLED. My robes are currently on coat stand in my office as I got somewhat warm in them with celebration with graduands & group photo which was inside thanks to weather.

Realised it is 7 years since the first time I wore these robes at my PhD graduation. So for some 14 ceremonies since then I have joined the fire hydrants, as 1 colleague calls us, on the platform. We have a lot of home-grown lecturers in this school as can be seen by the number of us in these unmistakable robes. It is a great day to see the students graduate.
