Changes
I don't go visit my hometown all that often, so when I do something has usually changed. This time i noticed a change when I was waiting to cross the street from the train station. That wasn't scratches in the red light as I thought, when it changed to green I saw it was a soldier walking and the red one was a soldier standing. It turns out an 11 year old boy had been in Odense with his grandmother and saw that they used H.C. Andersen in their street lights and when he came home to Fredericia he wrote the mayor and suggested that they should use Landsoldaten. And so they did! I think it's really cool that a little boy got heard, and him and all his class mates were also rewarded with a field trip.
Landsoldaten is Fredericias main monument from the war back in 1849. I would be surprised to see something like this in other towns, but in Fredericia it just seemed right.
I know it's not real good pictures, but I had to stand out in the street and those silly cars kept coming just when I was trying to get a good shot.
