No 1

This is Peep!

She* hatched around 6am this morning.

Ruairidh having been sat by the incubator since 5.30am helped her out of the last bit of shell and is therefore now 'Dad'.

I do have some bedraggled, damp, not long out of the shell pics but I'm afraid they are no contest for this little ball of fluff.

Three out of the other 4 due to hatch have little holes where tiny egg teeth** are hacking through but it may be tomorrow morning before they make an appearance.

It's better than any soap opera this, isn't it?

If I can drag Ruairidh away from his parental duties for long enough to take a picture I'll get him to put an update pic on his blip.



* I say she, but we wont know for a while yet.

** You can see Peep's egg tooth if you look carefully. It's that little extra bit on the end of her bill. Like a little jagged hammer for them to knock through the egg shell.
