Cypripedium pubescens

The Yellow Ladyslipper - also the subject of yesterday's entry.

Ever since I first saw these wildflowers, I have loved them - and then, when we moved here, I found that a very good friend had some in her garden (it is, of course, illegal to gather them from the wild) and she gave me a clump - which has taken very well in our garden.
They are just starting to open up to their full frontal glory.
