True bugs, water striders can move at up to 1.5m/s. That's pretty quick for such a little guy.

I always find it cool how nature has found really creative ways to make animals. I mean.. a predatory bug... that skates on water? And it's even cooler how they do it. I won't go into detail, but the water striders page on wikipedia explains it pretty well.

The weird shadows all around him are from other water striders in the vicinity.
