Letting go

I've had to do a lot of letting go recently, but I guess it hit me today that it happens in lots of different ways. Today was the first day of proper school.

It was only an afternoon settling in session which allowed us to get some jobs done together in the morning along with some more bike practice (just one stabiliser!) before heading off. Was expecting more resistance at the classroom door, but with a quick kiss and a hug for Daddy he didn't look back.

I strolled out of the gate as proud as a Dad could be with a smile on my face and a tear rolling down my cheek.
