Sniff. Poor camera all boxed up ready to be sent to Fujifilm's repair and service division in Bedford. I wonder how much hassle I'll have getting them to accept the fact that the fault occurred (and that they were also notified) within the warranty period... hopefully not as much hassle as I had convincing Parcelforce that the first incarnation of this camera which they "delivered" by leaving it in the shared stairwell had been stolen and thereafter convincing the idiotic and uncontactable dabs.com that Parcelforce had admitted losing the parcel and that another camera should be issued.
