goodbye shoes!

awww these are my beloved but fairly manky sandals that have helped me walk across various cities in the US and all over the UK but I have now abandoned them in Rome as they whiff a bit - and there is no longer any grip and I was slipping around on the marble floors!

It is quite a fitting place to leave them as i bought them ahead of my first visit to the city in Sept 2002 and they have been with me most times since, I left them on the Pincio, which looks out across the city and over the Piazza Del Poppolo which is one of my favourite spots in the city!


The pincio wasn't as lovely as it could have been as there is a major archeological dig going on!
