Sandia Peak

Long work week...decided to do something fun at the end of the day. I've been meaning to ride the Tramway for quite a while now, never really made it.

The 2.7 mile Tram is supported by two towers - each tower is 232 feet and 30 feet into the ground. Took 24 months to complete and underwent 60 days of testing. First riders went up in 1966.

The Tram is the longest passenger tramway - you pretty much ride up 4,000 ft in 15 minutes - taking you up to 10,378 feet. Or you can hike it if you would like...takes about 7 to 8 hours ;)

Glad I finally got on the Tram...would love to go again, spend some time hiking the top area of Sandia Mountains. The views are just amazing!
