'Barbed wire'
The fine, silvery hairs and tiny seeds of Miscanthus sinensis 'Purpurascens'.
Phew...mouthful.
Flame grass's big, fluffy plumes put on a spectacular show in summer and turn an almost pewtery shade of white in late Fall.
The sepia coloring of the image was unplanned, but I did shoot a cutting indoors since we had our first smattering of snow today.
Additional EXIF and shooting data:
Used the 21 mm extension tube on the 28-50mm, 1:2.8 lens and a tripod.
Lens was two inches from the focal point.
