I've never attempted a self portrait before.
Today I really needed and wanted to understand how people see and percieve me to be. I also wanted the world to see me, just me, with all the layers that are placed on top, taken away. Stripped back to my bear bones.
I thought a self portrait would sum these feelings up for me.

I took a few, but I liked this one the best. It doesn't show me in my best light - a few dark circles and wrinkles creeping around those eyes now. But that was the point - this is me, warts and all. This is me, take it or leave it. This is me, I'm honest enough not to hide behind anything. This is me.

I really wish we could all be honest with each other. Why do some people find that so hard to do?
