Day 1: Destruction
First off, Mrs42 and I wanted to say thanks for all your lovely comments yesterday on our anniversary!
Day 1 of the Bathrooms
This week we are having two bathrooms done up. A week of having the house turned upside down. I'll blip the progress (I hope) each day.
If there's one thing I've learned about living in old houses is that whenever you come to decorate or renovate you always find at least one 'surprise'. This was no exception today when the tradesmen found three layers of tiles, hidden cavities in walls, rotten floorboards, live wires leading nowhere etc. These things you come to expect.
However, what you don't expect mid way through the destruction is for one of the men to tell you the bath that their company sold me after their salesman measured up doesn't fit into the space! After a terse exchange, the guys agreed they actually do need to take off the multiple layers of the plaster and muck so the bath will fit and the plasterer will just have to deal with the mess afterwards.
So, the bath will fit. Just.
To answer some questions from you lot yesterday, Mrs42 and I gave each other copper for our anniversary (ie; the bathrooms :-)
