The Hippodrome

This is the cinema where I saw The Sound of Music, Mary Poppins and Where Eagles Dare, for the first time. The later film, with a seriously under-powered bulb in the projector. The scenes on the cable-car were down to guess-work and as for the guy who jumped out of the plane, I still have no idea who that was. In saying all this, I have a huge soft spot for my home town picture house, "The Hippodrome".It opened in Hope Street Bo'ness, in 1912 as the first purpose-built cinema in Scotland. It has now been given a new lease of life, after 34 years it has had a face lift and is having a private opening tonight, then opening to the public tomorrow. I may have to have a daunder down with Ali. We may be a wee bit old for the back row, but we would like to show our support;-)
Good luck to our very own old flea pit.

Back down to the Parent's again, but this time with a posse.
The boys helped their Grandad, by emptying one corner of the attic. Only hree left then Dad! Oh and the garage, Ah!
Me? I just hope the bulbs I planted get a good watering in tonight, as I forgot. Sorry dad.
