Off to San Antonio!
We left home about lunchtime to get down to the airport for our afternoon flight to San Antonio. We were delayed for about an hour as the plane was a regional jet and they had a weight problem, so they were looking for five volunteers to step down and not travel till tomorrow. It took a while for enough people to step forward, despite the $400 compensation they were offering. However, we finally took off. It was hard to get any decent photos as the windows were all scratched, and when we were below the clouds, it was very hazy. The weather in San Antonio was very poor - we were almost on the ground before we could see anything. Philip met us at the airport and we went to see his apartment then we went out for dinner and he took us down to our hotel in San Antonio - he lives near the airforce base which is to the north east of the city. We had decided we wouldnt rent a car until Monday morning as we knew we wouldnt use it much and we'd be paying more for rental plus expensive car-parking fees.
