A Walk Through Deb's Life

I Landed Today in Another World

Too tired now to really form words. I flew from Chicago O'Hare to Palm Springs, CA. To be honest, I've lived in So. Calif. for more than half my life and I never knew you could fly non-stop from Chicago to Palm Springs. I had a very good American Airlines experience - roomy seating, nobody in the middle seat, smooth, friendly skies (Oh wait, that's United)...I got off the plane and couldn't quite comprehend where I was. This was the view on my way to baggage claim. First the open air feel - and 95 degrees F, and then a few steps later, this painted mountain goat. I don't know...just seemed odd to this mid-west girl. Yesterday I had dirt under my finger nails after planting kale, chard, cabbage, and tomatillos. Today I flew with skinny, golf-loving, jewelry-wearing women over a vast moon-like desert surface, and picked up my registration packet to my first ever handcrafted soap maker's convention in Another World.

Today I am thankful for new soap making friends, Kay and Betty Lou from Evansville, Indiana and southwest Wisconsin, respectively.
