Out to Pasture
Well, the new machine arrived today!
Only started using it this evening, after a busy day of visiting transport museums, shopping, and collecting lawnmowers. So only a handful of shots, mainly in auto to get a first feel.
Obviously, one of them had to be of the old girl, my Nikon Coolpix 8800 which now enters semi-retirement as my backup camera. Back when I bought it, this was one of the best bridge cameras around, and with 8MP and a 10x zoom on board it's still OK. Plus it's built like a tank, survived a couple of drops onto the ground, a couple of near-soakings, Saharan sand and a toddler. Bit slow though, and the ISO performance is well out of date.
Anyway, off into the wide SLR world I venture as of today. Blip of the new beast tomorrow, which mat well be old faithful here's swansong, blipwise.
