Whale-watching
They were out there, near us, swimming from place to place, but we didn't manage to spot them. But what a fun and beautiful day we had! Perfect sunny weather, no wind and a neighbour as a tour guide. We were invited to a beach house which was in the neighbour's family since 1920, original shack, unaltered, with so much character and the best views of the ocean and local beaches. Our host spent plenty of weekends and holidays there since she was born (documented on photos around the house), now her kids can enjoy the freedom of roaming around. Just a tiny stroll from a rock beach, next to it Surfers Beach, very popular with.... wait.....surfers. There were about 30 in the water today, they looked like black seals. I wonder how many there will be in summer.
We climbed a little hill called the Bluff, hoping to spot the whales. We went to 2 other places, advised by the Whale Centre that they were spotted there today. Next time maybe.
Then lunch in the cottage, in front of a roaring fire, a stroll, shell collecting, coffee. What else could one wish for?
