did some lounging around watching 'doctor who' this morning, but then after a quick stroll round the park (which is where the lampposts are) i spent a couple of hours in the garden again hacking the gigantic laurel (which i should have taken a 'before' pic of but forgot) in the middle down to size. my dad would be proud: two binliners of rubbish plus three large armfuls of bits that had to be sawed off... but it now looks like a tidy couple of bushes again - and i unearthed what might be a rhodedendron between the laurel and the tree by the fence, which has grown exponentially in the last couple of months (as in, stand there and you can't see anything but tree now). there's a branch half snapped off it which needs taken down, but enough was enough for one day.

besides, i couldn't spend all day on the garden, i had my famous chocolate gingerbread to make, as D is leaving tomorrow after years of slavery at tspl - i'm going to miss him, he's great to work with (as well as being a true appreciator of a good cake).

i have a job interview tomorrow, btw. not really motivated to be bright and shiny and excited and determined tho, i'm slightly ambivalent as to whether i get it or not (depending on who does get it, of course, i could be distinctly unambivalent!). it's a six-month contract, so would be useful for job security for a while and could theoretically lead to something else, but might not and the atmosphere there at the minute is a bit grim, so it's rather a two-edged sword thing. i'll keep you posted!

oh, and i backblipped yesterday, too. quite pretty, i think.
