Green tea delights

Off to Kyoto next, where we stayed in a traditional Japanese hotel, or Ryokan. When we arrived, we were served with 'matcha', which is the traditional green tea that is served in the Japanese tea ceremonies. It is made with a green powder, and tastes nothing like the other green tea that is more commonly served. I can't say that I particularly liked the taste, but it was good to have tried it. The other strange thing with it was a sweet of some sort, but that was also a bit 'unusual' in taste!
