Water Tower House and "The Girls"
We took our own sightseeing tour today by driving north along the coast from Huntington Beach to Long Beach.
Huntington Beach has 8 miles of coastline, which includes Bolsa Chica. North of Bolsa Chica is the community of Sunset Beach, then Seal Beach, and then once we crossed over the San Gabriel River bridge we were in Long Beach, which is in Los Angeles County. The big cruise ship terminals are in Long Beach and San Pedro. Okay, so there's a little geography for you.
Of course we should have been on the tandem bicycle cycling all of that, but we weren't. We have in the past cycled that route. This past Wednesday we did pedal all the way to the Water Tower House in Sunset Beach. Somehow that day I forgot to capture a photo of it. I guess maybe I got so busy looking at the VW Bus/Bug combo that I forgot to photograph the Water Tower House. So that was one of the reasons we traveled north today--to blip the house. A large sign hangs on the highway side of the place that advertises it as a vacation rental house. So if you've ever wanted to stay in a water tower--there it is.
This evening we went south to Laguna Beach to again visit the Sawdust Art Festival grounds to not only look at the 200 local artisans displays of art, but also because "The Girls" band played again. It's a lovely open air venue located in a eucalyptus grove and a great place to spend a summer Sunday evening.
Thanks for following along with us on our 2 week vacation at the Pacific Ocean. I'll be back to commenting at the end of the week when we return home.
