This is a water bottle, a crushed one to be exact. It is worth one nickel. If you add up all the bottles from a whole pack of water bottles, you can get a lot of money. Adding a cash redemption value (CRV) to used bottles is a great idea. If you save all your empty bottles, you can get back all the money you paid for the bottles at the beginning of their lives, plus you can help the environment by recycling and not filling the dump with recyclable materials. Or, if you don't recycle, the government gets to money so that they can pay for other governmental things (which the state of California needs lots of).
