<ooh, spiders! yum!!>

spent this afternoon weeding the bed under the tree (and finding what look like some kind of bulbs coming up, no idea what), putting in a couple of newly-acquired plants (from cracks in the paving slabs outside the office - no, really, a buddleia and a shrubby thing whose name escapes me but is a plant, not a weed) and clearing another piece of garden from the rampant sedge (there were also a few spuds and three onions bursting up; it seems someone had a veg patch there the last time it was garden rather than jungle!). i had a bit of help with this last part tho - the resident robin bobbed around to catch the spiders i was unearthing (he's not fussed about the woodlice or snails, unfortunately). i also unearthed a toad, which looked suitably grumpy as it crawled off under the tree...
