"Home"

A long day. Work in Liverpool and then a quick dash (quick as in 2 hours one way...) by train along the North Wales coast to see Mum and Sis. Really pleased I did though.

So having left Liverpool at 15.00 I returned to my temporary 'home' at 23.15, a welcome sight. I'm enjoying Stuart Maconie's memoirs at the moment and have just read (on my one hour 30 mins return journey) about his love for hotels which I think I share. He writes:

I adore them... I love everything about them... Hotels are a holiday from real life to me; a dream world of endless hot water, free newspapers, massive beds, fluffy pillows, tiny chocolates, laundry bags, peanuts, shampoo, towelling robes etc

Now the novelty soon wears off, but at 23.15 tonight it felt great to throw myself on the aforementioned massive bed. I think I also like the anonymity of hotels - you check in, you shut the hotel door, and it's your own little bubble...
