King Dumyat the 1001st

This guy has ascended Dumyat from the hillfoots road 1001 times.

He first did it in the hill race in 1997, and liked it so much that it took him four years to find a job near enough to get up there at lunchtime.

In the last few years he has managed 100 ascents per year but last year he fell 2 short due to illness just before new year. That motivated him to complete 100 for this year several weeks ago, it looks like this year could be his biggest total so far.

His 1000th took place on Tuesday, at night, with Ochils hill runners (www.ochilhillrunners.org.uk). I recall the weather was not good that night but apparently there is always a bigger turnout when it's a bit gnarly. I suppose that gives scope for the "I've got a better headtorch than you" debate. The ascent was witnessed by TAC (The Angry Corrie) Editor who lives nearby, no doubt a mention will appear in the bagging chronicle at some point (http://bubl.ac.uk/org/tacit).

This lunchtime there were a number of unconnected runners on the hill, 3 different parties of 6 runners in total. One ran up one side (from the Logie side), down the other (towards Menstrie) and then back up.
