Beginning to feel a little more like Christmas now. Helped in part by the cards that are starting to arrive every day. Though opening them often brings me to tears. Our lovely adopted daughter is currently back in foster care and she won't be spending Christmas with us. She has incredibly challenging and complex needs brought on by the trauma and neglect she suffered by her birth family. The very people who should have loved her dearest.

We are currently fighting to get her the very best help she needs to enable her to overcome her past and be the gorgeous, gifted and beautiful person she has the capacity to be. I've made her a Christmas angel with her name on it and shall tell her so when I speak to her later. This year is going to be a hard one on all of us, though more so on her, separated from us.
