Birthday Girl

Elizabeth is 11 today. So grown up in lots of ways, and yet still very young in others. The nightmare of puberty is not far from us, and I worry for her. She has had so much trauma in her life that that alone is hard to deal with let alone with the added complications of pubescent trauma.

For today though, traumas are almost forgotten amongst a sea of pink paper, pink gifts and smiles.
