Mangosteens

Gnarly brown skins belie the succulent beauty within. The faint shade of red hints at the magenta dye that fills their thick skins, staining fingers and anything else it touches. If you can make it past its ugly appearance, you're rewarded wtih soft pearly white segments of fruit inside. One of my favorite Asian fruits.
