Birthday Drinks
We're still in Stockholm. Tonight, we swung by the Absolut Ice Bar knowing full well what a tourist trap it is. Afterall, no one in their right minde would pay 195:- Kronan for 45 minutes and one drink.
However, I was optimistic, because one of my friends has stayed at the Ice Hotel in Montreal and it was fantastic. Ice Bar in Stockholm, not so much.
Anyway, I can easily justify the cost because 1) we got a great deal online for 170 Kronan each (340 for the both of us) 2) it was my birthday 3) we're playing tourists 4) it came with a drink 5) I needed a good blip.
This is how they mix an Absolut cocktail in Stockholm (home of Absolut BTW), 95% juice, 5% alcohol. Because of Socialism, drinks here are taxed based on the amount of alcohol in them. Now, it's probably not actually the drink, but the raw liquor, wine, beer, but anyway...
Oh, and now you're wondering how much 30 minutes of the Ice Bar with a glass of Kool Aid cost, right? About $50 U.S. dollars. Seriously, stop laughing. To make myself feel better cocktails other places were about 122 Kronan for 5 centaliters of booze mixture. So for an extra 50ish Kronan, we got to see the ice bar.
Enjoy the Blip while I grab my knees. Actually, because it's my brithday, A. is grabbing her knees. Thanks!
