Ducks on the ice
Another sunny, though cold day. We had a shorter morning at church than usual, as the chancel choir was singing 1st and 2nd services, rather than 1st and 3rd, and our bell ensemble weren't practising after 3rd service as we usually do. So this gave us time to have our main meal at midday, and still fit in a walk at Sharon Woods (where I blipped the ducks) before heading down to Hyde Park United Methodist church for a concert in their Organ series, featuring Ryan Anthony on trumpet and Gary Beard on organ. Ryan Anthony was absolutely amazing, despite being sick! He is currently principal trumpet player with the Dallas Symphony and had previously spent about ten years with the Canadian Brass. At the end of the concert they were selling CDs, and since there were several pieces on the program that he had just felt unable to play, especially toward the end, they decided to sell the CDs for half price, so we bought two! Now we're just about to settle down and watch a movie!
