Tiny steps towards spring

Today temperatures are over 0°C for the first time since December. Our crocuses are flowering on the glazed-in balcony. But still loads of snow outside.

The Swedish word 'myrsteg' (ant steps) seems appropriate today, but can't find an English equivalent. Maybe we need to invent a new word?
