Blip Meet

Blip Meet: The first blip meet to have officially taken place in the United States.

AND WOOOOHOOOOO, IT WAS AWESOME!!!!

Today, I met a group of new friends. People who have taken the time to get to know me on blipfoto and vice versa. The most wonderful women. Thoughtful. Kind. Inspiring. A table full of "Deep Dishers" (and oh how we missed you Carol). We sat around a table for several hours talking about blipfoto, blips, blippers, and blip lingo. Every single one of us sharing a daily obsession that has taken one hobby and turned it into something that we all feel so passionately about.

Blipfoto is a way for all of us to see the world through the eyes of fellow blippers. People from all over the world, most of whom we have not met, but people who have inspired us in some sort of way through photography and/or journaling. How did this table full of blippers unite? How do we all know so much about one another after only meeting today? It is because a photograph or a thought that has been shared has touched each of us in some sort of way. It is amazing how small this world really gets when you seat nine blippers around the same table.

Several pieces of this huge blip puzzle came together today. We were given the opportunity to meet the people behind the comments. To see their warm expressions. To realize how much we all care about one another. Again and again and again I will say this: a heartfelt thanks goes out to Joe, the creator of blipfoto, for taking one idea and turning it into a worldwide movement. Blippers are blipping from all over the world. Connections are being made. Our worldly views are growing stronger. Communities are forming......all because of one idea.......starting from one person.

A special thanks goes out to my new friends who I will look forward to meeting again and will continue to get to know through blipfoto.
