Storyteller Series - #2 Podium (front view)

... continuing onwards with our visual tour of the large scale hand-built ceramic sculpture garden at the Rosa Parks Elementary School in San Diego.
The top of the podium is  shaped like an open book with tiles printed with the information about the author, what the theme of the park means, who commissioned the artwork etc. Some of those facts will be re-typed in this description section on subsequent blips so you won't have to read small print in a blip.
I will sometimes do a close-up blip so you can really see the detail.
The artist is Sayoko Kay Mura.  She hand made all the "tile" pieces and put them together on the podium, benches and the storyteller stature.  Then the pieces were moved to the site and placed there with cranes and the cement pathways and landscaping placed around the pieces.
